Bonnie Muth MacMillan, now deceased, was a prolific writer and artist of children's books and illustrations. As she cared for her family of four, she was able to work at home doing commercial illustrations and writing her books. She connected with the Latino community, spending considerable time in Mexico and among the locals in her neighborhood. Hence her interest in writing children's books benefiting the English-speaking Hispanics in her community. This book was her last attempt at producing an educational book on the history of Mexico for the purpose of keeping the Mexican heritage alive among the Latino children living in the United States.
